The benefits of the University of Calgary Scholarships are twofold. They are :

  • Energizing Canada International Entrance Scholarship: $20,000 (renewable)
  • University of Calgary International Admission Scholarship: $20,000 (renewable)

Energizing Canada International Entrance Scholarship:

  • Designed for first-year international students who have been accepted into a university undergraduate program.
  • The scholarship will continue after the first year, depending on the academic performance of the students.
  • Desired results of a minimum GPA of 3.00
  • Must have graduated from an accredited secondary school in China, including Hong Kong and Macau
  • Programs such as Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Health Sciences or Bachelor of Arts – Urban Studies program are given priority

University of Calgary International Admission Scholarship:

  • Designed for first-year international students who have been accepted into a university undergraduate program.
  • Applicants are selected on the basis of required English language proficiency.
  • Academic merit
  • Desired results of a minimum GPA of 2.6 and above.
  • As an international student, applicants must continue to pay an internationally differentiated tuition fee.
  • International students subject to a differentiated fee are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada

How Can International Students Apply for University of Calgary Scholarships?

The step-by-step guidelines will help you apply for the University of Calgary Scholarship,

(1) Apply for your bachelor’s degree at the university:

  • You can start your application. Start by creating a UCalgary eID.
  • Use the application guide to help you with your application.
  • Submit your application and pay your $145 application fee.
  • Based on your application, we will let you know at your student center in Calgary how and where to submit the required documents. Visit the documents page for more information.

(2) Apply for the scholarship, follow the next steps:

  1. Go to your Student Center in your myUofC portal.
  2. In your Student Center, click on the ‘My finances’ page.
  3. Scroll down to the Awards & Scholarships section and click on “Apply for Undergraduate Awards”. Make sure popups are enabled. If pop-ups are blocked, the page will not be displayed.
  4. A pop-up window will open on your screen listing all open applications or applications that have been closed recently. Note the dates when the application is available and the deadline for the application.
