Lexington man accused of killing wife previously pleaded guilty to spouse abuse

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (WKYT) — We learn new information about a man accused of killing his wife in Lexington.

Stephon Henderson, 59, faces charges of murder, infringement of the patent office and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said they received a call at about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from a man who told them he had shot his wife, identified by the coroner as 47-year-old Talina Henderson, at a home in Bay Colony Lane, off Sandersville Road in the Station District. Masterson.

Police say Stephon Henderson surrendered to officers without incident. When the officers entered the home, they found Talina Henderson dead from a gunshot wound.

According to court documents, a petition for a protective order was filed on November 20 against Stephon Henderson. Court documents list the plaintiff in this case as Talina Henderson.

A hearing on this petition was scheduled for November 30 in Fayette Circuit Court.

Court records also show that Stefon Henderson pleaded guilty in 1998 in Fayette County to aggravated assault and spousal abuse. He was sentenced to 90 days in prison, with 83 days suspended from that sentence. He also received two years probation.

Stephon Henderson is scheduled to appear in Fayette County Court Monday afternoon on these latest charges.
