4.9 earthquake in West Texas felt in El Paso County

EL PASO, Texas – A 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred Thursday near Menton, Texas, according to the US Geological Survey.

People felt the 4.9-magnitude earthquake just five minutes after a 4.5-magnitude earthquake occurred in the same area.

The ABC-7 viewer from Horizon City reported feeling tremors.

It comes eight days after a 5.4-magnitude earthquake was felt in West Texas, with shaking reported in El Paso.

Another earthquake was reported in White City, New Mexico near Carlsbad. The magnitude of this earthquake was 2.7.
