The Chargers list quarterback Justin Herbert as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. That’s exactly what it sounds like he is.
Herbert did not train on Friday after being limited with fractured costal cartilage on Wednesday and Thursday.
Herbert said the “plan” is for him to train for the pre-match warm-ups, which will make him make a decision about playing time.
“I don’t know,” Herbert said Friday when asked if he would play. “That’s a decision we have to make for a few more days. We don’t play today, so we play on Sunday. Whatever the plan, I know our team will be prepared and will do whatever it takes. That decision will be made on Sunday. I do not exclude anything.”
Herbert was asked if this is the most serious injury he has ever had.
“I broke my femur, and that was pretty badsaid Herbert via Daniel Popper of TheAthletic.com.
Herbert’s precarious status has impacted the bet line for the game as Chase Daniel will start if Herbert is unable to play.Read:Steelers vs. Browns game line, odds: NFL expert releases pick for Thursday Night Football matchup
