Below are the benefits given to successful applicants for the renewable energy scholarship program;

Candidates are selected to complete their master’s degree at higher education institutions located outside their country of residence. The scholarship provides funding for tuition, living expenses, travel, research grants, insurance, and visas.

Candidates are selected to complete their master’s degree at higher education institutions in their country of residence. The scholarship takes care of the scholar’s tuition and research grant. A small allowance will also be provided to contribute to travel and accommodation costs.

Scholarships will be awarded to a limited number of best qualified people to meet budget constraints. Applicants are encouraged to consider factors such as language, proximity, family and internship opportunities in their decision making when selecting their most preferred scholarship category.

Applicants should carefully study below before applying for the scholarship program;

  • Applicants must be nationals of a Member State of ECOWAS or Mauritania and residents of the ECOWAS Region or Mauritania.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a first or second class upper division.
  • Applicants must have completed studies with at least a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, energy environment (including renewable energy and energy efficiency), law, economics, finance and planning as assumed by the admission requirements of the chosen university.
  • Candidates with work experience in the energy sector in West Africa will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants must be at least provisionally admitted to an approved field of study at the time of scholarship approval.
  • The scholarship is open to working and non-working candidates.
  • Applicants must publish at least 1 practice-oriented study before the end of the program.
  • Applicants must commit to starting internships within the degree programme.
