Thanksgiving traditions: Jessie James Decker, Alison Sweeney and more share how they celebrate the holiday

Thanksgiving is here and celebrities are getting ready to celebrate.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, stars shared their favorite Thanksgiving traditions and what they’re thankful for this holiday season.

“I’m thankful for my health,” said Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox. “I’m thankful for my family. I’m thankful that the pandemic is over. I’m thankful that I’m working. Gosh, just to have… air in my lungs, you know, that’s an blessing because, I mean, I just know, we’ve lost so many people during COVID. I mean, I could count there were over 20 friends and acquaintances that I knew died during COVID.”

For LeVox, Thanksgiving holiday traditions are all about three things: “football, good food [and] sweatpants.”

Anna Faris is thankful that all her children are happy. Faris shares son Jack with ex-husband Chris Pratt, and she is stepmother to husband Michael Barrett’s two children.

“I am so thankful that all three children, I have two stepchildren and a 10-year-old son, are very happy now because when they are not happy it is hard,” said Faris. Faris’ The Estate co-star, Australian actress Toni Collette, says she is grateful “for the opportunities and the adventures that come my way.”

Christian music singer Matthew West looks forward to the holiday season as it gives him the chance to spend some much needed quality time with his family.

“I’m a traveling musician and being away is the story of my year, so there’s something so special about when the calendar and the shows and the tour bus pull up and I come back to Nashville and I walk through the door, and it’s officially Thanksgiving , or it’s officially Christmas,” said West. “That family time is precious and sacred. I have some favorite traditions, but a lot of them have to do with the time we spend together.”

Canadian singer Lindsay Ell agrees with West.

“My favorite holiday tradition is just hanging out at home. We travel so much all year round that it’s nice to just have some down time, sit in sweatpants and watch good movies and eat good food,” she said.

Jason Momoa says his favorite holiday tradition revolves around his kids and spending time watching great movies like “Home Alone.”

Meanwhile, Jessie James Decker is already anticipating the next big holiday, noting that her “favorite holiday tradition is… putting up the Christmas tree with the kids, drinking apple cider, and listening to Christmas music.”

For Joe Jonas, the point of the Thanksgiving holiday is “being with family” and, of course, the food.

“Growing up, it was watching football and hanging out with friends and family…just being together, and that’s what it’s all about,” said Jonas, adding that when it comes to food, he puts “as much gravy on everything as possible.” sets”.

“I think the tradition … is that I still separate the different foods on my plate. My dad, he always had to separate, and I think it continues.”

For Alison Sweeney, Thanksgiving is all about taking stock of everything in her life that she’s thankful for, saying she’s “grateful for so many things.” She explained that she is very grateful for her children and “for their health” and “for this wonderful life” that she has.

“As a parent, I love celebrating Thanksgiving because it’s an opportunity to stop and be thankful and share that experience with your kids and show them how grateful they are,” Sweeney said. “I started something with my kids where I asked them to write down three things every night that they’re thankful for, and it could be little things like, ‘I didn’t have to take out the trash today’ or ‘I’m thankful for my dog” — just to take a moment to think about what you are thankful for that day and make it a lifelong habit.

Sweeney also admitted that Thanksgiving is her favorite holiday of the year, mainly because the Thanksgiving feast is her “favorite meal of the year” and something she prepares every year.

“I think about it a lot throughout the year, and I really focus on it, preparing myself physically and mentally for this day. ‘What time am I going to eat? What am I going to eat first? What is this plate going to do? With bring?'” Sweeney said. “I love everything. I love the smell of the kitchen, and I start making the sides and stuff three days in advance, and I love it. I love every part of it. I don’t even mind to clean up afterwards. I like everything.”
