Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson surprises Jim Gardner during 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Quinta Brunson, the creator and star of ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” surprised our Jim Gardner at the 6abc Dunkin’ Thanksgiving Day Parade.

It is clear that they are both fans of each other.

“You are changing the landscape of television,” said Gardner, a heartwarming acquaintance with Brunson. “Oh my god it’s so nice to meet you.”

“It’s so nice to meet you. Thank you for being on my show. Now everyone knows the beauty of Jim Gardner,” replied Brunson, who was born in West Philadelphia.

Brunson’s show, “Abbott Elementary” “follows a documentary crew as they film the lives of teachers and students at a struggling, underfunded school in Philadelphia.

The show became ABC’s first comedy to quadruple ratings since its premiere.

Brunson and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who is married to Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes, both earned Emmy wins earlier this year.
