Black Friday Cycling Live: Deals on bikes, helmets, tech and more

Refresh

For those of you just waking up in the US, here are some key finds so far:

🚲 25% off sitewide at Rapha

🚲 20% off any full priced item at Jenson USA with BLACKFRIDAY

and some specific deals as we will now outline…

But you’re here for deals, and as always, in our effort to share the best Black Friday bike deals, we’re happy to oblige:

After testing, two of our testers shared their key lessons in the following posts:

📝 Six things I learned testing waterproof jackets
📝
Six things I learned testing winter gloves

Each of those pages contains a list of our recommendations based on months of testing in all weather conditions, good, bad and worse.

On that subject, before I share some of the deals we found, a few helpful articles:

We recently completed some important winter-focused group tests.

Random Interlude:

If you’re a cyclist in the UK, you’d probably want the good weather to come back.

We’ve looked and unfortunately there are no Black Friday deals on divine powers, so I’m afraid we can’t help you change the seasons. You could go to British Airways (opens in new tab) and moving abroad in the coming months, but I assume that is not feasible.

The next best thing to beating the weather on a bike is dressing appropriately for – or avoiding – the conditions, and we can certainly help with that.

Whether that means we use our Black Friday cycling clothing deals to invest in a winter-ready wardrobe and face the elements, or use our Black Friday turbo trainer deals to equip your cave of pain and avoid the weather altogether, there are Black Friday deals to help.

The Garmin deals don’t stop at the computers, though. Smartwatches are regularly among the most sought-after items in Black Friday sales, and this year the deals seem better than ever. Here are a few highlights:

Looking at cycle computers first, there are some seriously good deals out there, especially in the UK.

Fun fact: The name “Garmin” was created by merging the names of the two founders. Garand Burrell and min Kao.

First we talk about technology:

The Garmin brand is never one to shy away from a big sale, and whether it’s directly on the Garmin website or from other retailers like Amazon, Wiggle or Competitive Cyclist, there’s almost always a Garmin deal to be found. That is why we have dedicated a separate page to it Black Friday Garmin offers.

The Garmin brand, if you are not familiar, is an American brand that specializes in GPS technology. It is the market leader in several categories, in cycling, boating, driving, golfing and more. For cyclists, those categories are GPS bike computers, smartwatches, but also peripherals such as lighting and power meters.

To kick things off, let me introduce myself. This live blog is currently being written by Josh, technical editor here at Cyclingnews. I am ably supported by Will and Tom, who are both busy finding deals and updating our other various deal rounds.

Anyway, keep this page open and you’ll see the best deals as soon as we find them!

Or to put it in English: if we find some big deals, a deluge of messages can come in quick succession, and while we’re on the hunt for more, we’ll slow down a bit.

In an effort to test our early winter endurance training, we plan to keep this live blog from today through Cyber Monday. We’ll try to keep the intensity in a solid zone two all the way through, but we can get ahead of ourselves on the climbs and we can’t promise we won’t sprint for the city signposts.

And they are finished! Welcome.
