American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship Coverage

Eligibility Criteria for American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship
NB: Not everyone can apply for an AU EGL scholarship. Before you can apply for this type of scholarship, you need to have some documents in hand.
The following are the necessary requirements expected of every applicant;
- International students who have overcome various obstacles and challenges and students from diverse and under-represented global and socio-economic backgrounds.
- A minimum 3.8 GPA equivalent (or in the top 10% of the graduating class) for 9th-12th grade.
- A proven commitment to leadership, volunteerism, community service and advancing the needs of people in their home countries.
- Students with any of the following: 95+ TOEFL iBT (all subscores must be 20 or higher); subscores of 24+ on the paper TOEFL (taken after May 31, 2017); 7.0+ IELTS (all subscores must be 110 or above); or Cambridge Assessment English score of 185 or above. Each subscore must be 169 or higher.
- Students still in high/high school graduating in June 2023.
- Important: Students in the IB system must plan to graduate with a full IB degree with at least 3 HL subjects. Students studying in the UK A-Levels system must complete at least 3 A-Levels before August 2023 and complete 13 years of study.
Are not eligible;
- You are not eligible to apply if you are a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or dual citizen of the U.S. and another country
- You are not eligible to apply if you are enrolled in or have already begun post-secondary studies at another university in your home country or the United States.
- Finally, your eligibility would be nullified if you graduated from high school earlier than 2021.
How to Apply for the American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship
- You must submit and complete the application at the latest AU EGLS applicationjoint or coalition application and international admission process before January 15, 2023.
- AU EGLS applicants must apply for Regular Decision by Fall (August) 2023. Do not apply Early Decision (ED)
